The Master’s degree study programme Religious studies implemented by the CRSR is the only Master’s degree programme in Lithuania under which the tension emerging between the secularization development trends in the contemporary culture, and, on the other part – efforts to realize and consolidate the continuity of the culture originating from Christian foundations is reflected from the viewpoints of philosophy, theology and religious studies.
The objective of the Master’s degree studies in religion to train, following the interdisciplinary and non-confessional approach, highly qualified specialists in religious studies fully corresponding to the relevant European and global standards capable of perceiving the peculiarity of the place of religion in the modern secularized world and able to apply the knowledge acquired in their independent professional and/or research activities is directly related to the purpose of the programme – to award an extensive qualification of interdisciplinary nature in the field of religious studies.
