Call for Papers
The conference “Emmanuel Levinas: a Radical Thinker in the Time of Crisis” (Vilnius, October 27-29) commemorates one of the most famous thinkers of the 20th century Emmanuel Levinas on 110th anniversary of his birth and 20th anniversary of his passing. Levinas deeply experienced the cataclysms of the past century, becoming one of the brightest intellectual figures of his time. The conference aims to bring together scholars from different disciplinary backgrounds involving philosophers, historians and specialists of cultural and religious studies to rediscover Levinas as a radical thinker in the time of crisis. The conference addresses a wide range of Levinas’s philosophy topics, with particular focus on their link to the challenges of contemporary world.

The language of the conference is English.
The abstracts up to 300 words and a brief biographical note should be sent by 22th September 2015 to:

Electronic Receipt Deadline:
The deadline for submitting your abstract to Organising Committee has been extended until 11:59 p.m. Tuesday, September 22th, 2015 (GMT).
A person may submit only one paper for consideration. All submissions must be submitted electronically.

Paper abstracts must be written in English and with no more than 300 words.
The subject line of the email should read: 2015 Emmanuel Levinas: A Radical Thinker in the Time of Crisis Submission.
Submissions must be in .doc, .docx, .rtf, or .pdf format. Paper Abstracts must include: title, author's name, institution, contact information.
An acknowledgement of receipt of your abstract will be sent to you within one week from the date of receipt. Electronic letters of acceptance will be sent to the selected participants by September 27, 2015.
All contributing participants will be required to finance their own travel, registration fee and accommodation.
